I didnt think so, or you wouldn't be here! But I'm not talking about that kind of experience! Im talking about the kind you get when you kill a mob!
When you first begin the game, you will be see a quest giver nearby with the yellow '!' over them. This will be your first quest, it will involve killing a few mobs, they will usually be the same level as you, level 1 or maybe even level 2! (oh noes!) you will notice that their level is number is written in yellow. That means they're on par with you, if their level number was green, it would mean they were an easy kill for you and would give little less experience or XP as most players call it. If the mobs level was orange, it would mean it was a little higher than you and will be more challenging to kill, if its level is red its going to be quite hard to kill. Lastly if the mob is more than 10 levels higher than you, its level will appear as a skull and you wont be able to kill it without help from someone else. (boss fights may be exceptions - but by the time you're soloing bosses you will know all about that!)

After you have killed all the mobs required for your first quest, you return to the questgiver for your reward, it may be some coin, it may be an item, but it will also usually give some bonus XP! That's why questing is better to level than just plain killing mobs!
When you enter a major city or an inn, you will notice the sentence 'You feel rested' in yellow text in your chat box. Your level circle on your character icon will also change to contains three little ZZZs and it will glow! It was quite a while before I knew what that meant, or even why it happened let alone the advantages of it. When your character is rested, your XP bar turns from purple to blue, and the XP you get from killing monsters is doubled. The rest builds up slowly, a notch will mark how much rest you have. The longer you rest, the more rested experience you will get, the maximum rested XP one can have is 1.5 levels.
